Foundations of Surface Anatomy for Modern Dry Needling ANIMS – North Vancouver October 12 2024
Course Objectives:
• 1. Re-familiarize students with the principles and techniques of accurate surface anatomy.
• 2. Review surface anatomy relevant to dry needling in the ANIMS program.
• 3. Identify and locate key anatomical structures, including muscles, bones and sensitive structures in a hands-on approach
• 4. Increase in participant confidence and skill in identification of key anatomical structures as they relate to dry needling
Course Outline:
1) Upper Extremity Surface Anatomy
Identification and palpation of muscles and bony landmarks in the shoulder, arm,
forearm, and hand
2) Lower Extremity Surface Anatomy
Identification and palpation of muscles and bony landmarks in the hip, thigh, leg, and
foot
3) Spinal Surface Anatomy
Identification and palpation of muscles and bony landmarks of the pelvis, spine and ribs
