UBC MPT Foundations of Clinical Surface Anatomy – Sept 21, 2024
UBC Foundations Of Clinical Surface Anatomy MPT
This course is for graduating UBC MPT students. Anatomy and Surface Anatomy are the two most important pieces to becoming an effective clinician. Effectively identifying the bony, muscular, neurovascular and visceral structures of the different regions of the body is vital to clinical practice.
Any unsafe practices in manual therapy, exercise prescription and dry needling/ANIMS we have observed in the clinical community are usually related to assuming where anatomical structures are, not actually identifying and confirming them. This course is to give you a foundation in key structures in each region of the body.
The body is far too complex to be comprehensively covered in a single day. The purpose of this course is to review key areas in the body and specific landmarks that are the most important when starting on your professional clinical practice journey and to further develop your clinical handling skills.
